1962-63
Lilly dies from Alzheimer’s. Arthur marries his housekeeper and takes her with him and the boys for their honeymoonon on his next tour of Europe. She’s all for the trip but she’s not Lillie. One boy dies after a fight in the shower. Three more are hit by a Citroen on the Champs Elysee. Five more boys get mononucleosis and are hospitalized in Cologne. Arthur thinks he may have gone out too far after promising himself he would never do it again. He was lucky the first time but this time one boy is dead and several are hurt. He has entered them in the Kerkrade Music Festival. What are they to do?
Bob composes his first major work for concert band while in the hospital in Cologne which the band plays at their homecoming concert after a nurse takes him down to a club on the Rhine to hear the Kenny Clarke/Francey-Bolam Big Band.
